The Sparks and Koblerville won their first games after trouncing separate rivals in the continuation of the 2004 Inter-Village Youth Basketball League Wednesday and Tuesday night.
Last Wednesday, Sparks pulled away from a tight first half after limiting G-Rollers II to just a bucket in the second half to win running away, 47-13.
It was 5-3 in favor of the G-Rollers after the first quarter and 16-11 with Sparks leading at the half.
But G-Rollers would experience the mother of all dry spells in the second half, with their only device courtesy of Dhaniel Mateo. Worse, the squad didn't make single a point in the fourth and final quarter.
Shane Camacho paced all scorers with 10 points, while Jess Sison and Aaron Kaipat led G-Rollers II with 4 markers apiece.
The win allowed the Sparks to catch G-Rollers at 1-1 in the win-loss column.
Sparks 47 - S. Camacho 10, E. Camacho 8, A. Iguel 6, Ogarto 4, Reyes 4, Dela Cruz 4, Omar 4, Kani 4, Iglecias 3, M. Iguel 3, Quitugua 2, Babauta 1.

Scoring by quarters: 3-5, 16-11, 29-13, 47-13.

Koblerville also evened its record at 1-1 after it ran roughshod over Blaze, 56-6. The Tuesday evening carnage was all over right in the first quarter, after Koblerville outscored Blaze 16-2.
It would turn from bad to worse for Blaze in the succeeding three periods, as Koblerville would rack up 40 more points against Blaze's measly 4 markers.
Tony Rogolifoi Jr. outscored the whole Blaze team himself with 18 points to lead Koblerville. Quaid Ngirchongor paced Blaze with 4 points. Monday IVYBL game was rained out.
Koblerville 56 - Rogolifoi 18, Stner 6, Irad 6, Meco 6, Daylinne 6, Kelvin 4, Warden 4, Bryan 2, Jerry 2, Antonio 2.

Vibes banked on a good start en route to a 64-51 title win over the Ol'Aces 2 in the U25 division of the 2016 TanHoldings Christmas Basketball Tournament last Saturday at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium. Duenas and Franklin Macahito...   [read more]
