The Territorial Championship Men Finals isn't over yet, AS 6km managed to win the Game 2 62-57 over Vallee-du-tir, there will a decisive Game 3 in this serie. On the ladies side, AS6km can already celebrate as they won the Game 2 over SSI to sweep the serie 2-0.

Vallee-du-tir has won the last three games against AS6km before the Game 2, but Jean-Marc Delaveuve and his players didn't want to let the trophy go. They managed to snatch a 62-57 to force a win-or-die Game 3. Miguel Delaveuve (186-G-89) led his side to the victory with a game-high 18pts. For AS6km, this is just one step to their goal.
"We lost in the Finals five times and never raise the trophy" said JM Delaveuve "We made a bad Game 1 but in the Game 2 we produced a much better defensive game, especially in the last quarter. We will have to take care of Fabrice Chaliot and the Weber brothers again"."We will meet JSVDT for the fifth time in one month and that's a very good team. With the semifinals in Bourail we have played 6 games in two weeks so I hope my players won't be too tired for the last game. We are very motivated".
AS6km original goal was to reach the Final stage but now they want more and hope to defeat Vallee-du-tir to secure a spot in the 2006 Pacific Champions Cup. But before that they have to beat JSVDT, the defending champion who will play the 2005 edition of the Pacific Champions Cup in November. Vallee's coach Eric Saminadin thinks that his team would won the last game.
"The team is confident. We are playing in the Finals for many years now so the players know how to handle the pressure. Even without Gerard Girier-Dufournier (for professional reasons), one of our best player, we have what we need to win a second title in a row" he said "I told my big players to go more in the paint and to take care of the rebounds. We have to play a slower game, we shouldn't lose as many balls as we did in the last game". But Saminadin is aware of the AS6km's firepower "They know how to hit the three-point shots and if they won the Final it will be a big premiere for us. I only hope that the referee will be better than the one we had for the last Game, otherwise we might be in trouble".
The Game 3 will be played on Tuesday night at the Jeune Scene Hall.

In the Territorial Women Championship, the serie is over as AS6km swept SS Independente in two games. One week after winning the South Province Title, AS6km won another trophy. They defeated SS Independente 58-43 to sweep the serie 2-0. Soana Lucet (187-C-87) led AS6km with 17pts.

"I'm really happy" said Miguel Delaveuve, AS6km coach "This is a great reward for the work we have been doing for six years with this team. The game was close but we managed to handle it in the final quarter. Now we will try to win the Grand Chelem with the Caledonia Cup".
