Everybody was expecting a thrilling Game 3 in the Territorial Finals, and it was a thrilling game despite JS Vallee-du-tir's domination over AS6km 74-49. This is their second trophy in two years.

JSVDT and AS6km had a lot of work in the past two weeks, they faced each other in the South Province and in the North Province. With the Finals serie tied at 1-1, this Game 3 was a do-or-die situation for both teams. Vallee won the first quarter 14-12 but coach Saminadin had to deal with Fabrice Chaliot's (198-F/C-76) foul trouble. Even with Chaliot on the bench, JSVDT kept the lead and reached half-time on a 29-25.
Finally Vallee-du-tir increased its domination over a tired AS6km, a deeper bench is really an advantage in this kind of serie. On a tremendous dunk by Chaliot, the game leading-scorer with 20pts, JSVDT extended the lead to 20 points with less than 5 minutes to go. The game was over.
"Tonight we saw a great game" analyzed Eric Saminadin "the first three quarters were really close but we managed to make them run so they were tired in the last stanza and we claimed a 25-point victory".
With this second Territorial trophy in a row, the seventh in 8 years, Vallee-du-tir is already thinking of Tahiti's champion AS Aorai.
"We still have to play the Caledonia Cup before heading to Tahiti to play the Pacific Champions Cup" said Chaliot "these are two important goals for us, we won the last five Caledonia Cup and we want to take the trophy back home. Concerning Tahiti, we will do our best".
JS Vallee-du-tir will face Tahiti's champion AS Aorai in Pacific Champions Cup, the winner of the game will play in the French Cup. JSVDT will also play in the 2006 edition of the Cup against the 2006 Tahiti champion.
