AS 6km hosted a friendly tournament last week featuring Faka Ilo Kava and the Vanuatu team Cannons. In the women tournament, Vanuatu was represented by Sia Raga and JS Vallee-du-tir was also invited in this tournament. AS 6km won both the men and women tournaments after defeating the vanuatu teams in the finals.

Last year AS6km travelled to Vanuatu for a week-long tour, this time they hosted the tournament. There is a great connection between New Caledonia and Vanuatu and these kinds of tournaments are a really good way to improve the game in both countries. AS6km defeated Cannons 58-42 in the opening game on the wings of Benjamin Hnawia (13pts), Willy Berthin scored 14pts for Cannons. Then AS 6km defeated the club B squad 76-53 thanks to Miguel Delaveuve (186-F-89) who scored 21pts. AS6km really dominated this tournament, the B squad even managed to defeat Faka Ilo Kava 76-68 with 14pts from Cliff Hoffman, despite 26pts from Lorenzo Subiranas. In the final game, AS 6km defeated Cannons 84-67. They reached half-time on a 47-24 score and controlled the second part of the game. Benjamin Hnawia was the game's leading scorer with 18pts
"The level of play in Vanuatu really improved since last year" said Jean-Marc Delaveuve, AS6km coach "We had a great tournament during the week, that really reinforced the bonds between our country and Vanuatu. We are already looking for next year, we wants to involved youth teams in our tournaments too".
