The Taranaki Mountain Airs have signed a big man for 2013.

American-Nigerian Suleiman Braimoh (203-F-89, college: Rice) brings some much needed height and size to the Taranaki Mountain Airs.

The 22-year-old is 2.03m tall (6 ft 8 in) and 104kg (230 lb). He and combo guard Jack Leasure (191-G-86, college: Co.Carolina) are the teams two imports for 2013.

Braimoh said his strengths were defence, rebounding and offensive versatility. "Defence and rebounding are things that I focus a lot of my energy on when I'm on the court. I can defend multiple positions and rebound from several spots on the floor as well."

He graduated from Rice University in 2011 and has played in the NBA D-League and in Qatar.

The rest of the squad underwhelmed, with an inexperienced Breakers side struggling to gel as the new season qu...   [read more]
