New Zealand overwhelm Papua New Guinea at the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships in Victoria. The team started the campaign with 99:49 win.
New Zealand looked better from the start of the game and took 27-9 in the first period. They added 23-14 in the second frame and led 50:23 at the halftime. Moreover the favorites won the third and the last quarters. They posted 24-12 in the third period and finished the game with 25-14 in the last stanza.
Raymond Penny stepped up with 18 points for the winners and Jordan Baas nailed 16. Jayden Bezzant and Denhym Brooke followed them with 13 each. Joban Mea finished the game with 11 points in the losing effort and Obert Muri notched 9. Moses Lune posted 8, while Emmanuel Parapa and Junior Tokiala followed them with 6 apiece.
