New Zealand- Papua New Guinea 99:49

New Zealand overwhelm Papua New Guinea at the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships in Victoria. The team started the campaign with 99:49 win.
New Zealand looked better from the start of the game and took 27-9 in the first period. They added 23-14 in the second frame and led 50:23 at the halftime. Moreover the favorites won the third and the last quarters. They posted 24-12 in the third period and finished the game with 25-14 in the last stanza.
Raymond Penny stepped up with 18 points for the winners and Jordan Baas nailed 16. Jayden Bezzant and Denhym Brooke followed them with 13 each. Joban Mea finished the game with 11 points in the losing effort and Obert Muri notched 9. Moses Lune posted 8, while Emmanuel Parapa and Junior Tokiala followed them with 6 apiece.

Brisbane Spartans (SEABL) agreed terms with 25-year old New Zealander forward Duane Bailey (198-87kg-91). He moved there from Zero Fees Southland Sharks in New Zealand NBL league where he started the season. Bailey managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year. In 8 NBL games he had 8.0ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.5apg this season. The most of this season he spent at Plymouth Raiders (BBL) in British league. In 24 NBL games he recorded 10.5ppg, 6.8rpg and 3.0apg. Naturalized American Swingman Dion Prewster (195-G/F-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Wellington S., receiving a Usbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12. The 25-year old player was the main contributor (40 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team IMS Hawks (#7, 0-18) with 48-point margin 120-72. NBL Round 12: Giants lose to Saints in the game between Top 4 teams - May 29, 2016

The Regular Season in NBL just ended. Very significant was Saints' (#2, 13-5) victory against 4th ranked Giants (9-9) 96-83. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Saints made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Giants helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
