Tahiti-New Zealand 48:70

New Zealand continue their winning streak at the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. The team overcame Tahiti 70:48 and advanced to the Semifinals. Tahiti will start their 5-8 places campaign.
New Zealand started with 13-10 lead and added 24-13 in the second period. They dominated also the second half and posted two victories for the final 22-point win.
Raymond Penny paced all the winners with 16 points and Harrison Cutfield notched 14. Denhym Brooke added 9, while Jayden Bezzant scored 8. Byron Vahapata answered with 12 points in defeat and Jean Peters added 9. Tepoea Teurua followed them with 7 points in a loss.
Tomorrow Guam will take on ambitions New Zealand in the first Semifinal. Tahiti will open the day against New Caledonia in the Classification for 5-8 places.

KURAN IVERSON 22-year old forward Kuran Iverson (206-F-95) had a great game in the last round for Manawatu J. and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 4. He had the game-high 38 points adding eight rebounds and two assists for Manawatu J. as his team was edged out by Nelson G. (#3, 4-2) 87-85. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. Second defeat of league's leader Hawks (4-2) against fourth ranked Sharks (4-2) 104-74 was the most important game of the last round.
