Guam-New Zealand 60:63

New Zealand outgun Guam and reach the Final of the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. The Kiwis won 63:60 in one of the most interesting games of the tournament.
Although New Zealand won the first period 16-15, Guam responded with 13-11 in the second frame and took 1-point halftime advantage. New Zealand managed to take the lead back after 14-9 surge in the third quarter and did not allow the opponents to win the game. Guam posted 23-22 in the last stanza but lost the game by 3 points.
Jayden Bezzant top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Raymond Penny posted 13. Jack Salt delivered 10, while Ihaka Pink tossed in 8. Samuel Sotelo answered with 13 points in the losing case and Bruce Merrill notched 12. Michael Sakazaki and Joshua Sebastian followed them with 8 points apiece in a loss.

This week's number one is former international power forward Steven Adams (213-93). He could not help the Oklahoma City Thunder (22-20) in their last game. New Zealand Breakers (NBL) signed 27-year old Virgin Islander forward Rakeem Christmas (206-113kg-91, college: Syracuse). He supposed to play at Galatasaray in Turkish BSL league, but left the team in Nov.'17. In 5 games he had 9.8ppg and 3.4rpg this season. Christmas also played 5 games in Eurocup where he recorded 5.2ppg and 4.6rpg. The last season he played at the Pacers in NBA. In 28 games he averaged just 2.1ppg and 2.0rpg.
