New Zealand outgun Guam and reach the Final of the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. The Kiwis won 63:60 in one of the most interesting games of the tournament.
Although New Zealand won the first period 16-15, Guam responded with 13-11 in the second frame and took 1-point halftime advantage. New Zealand managed to take the lead back after 14-9 surge in the third quarter and did not allow the opponents to win the game. Guam posted 23-22 in the last stanza but lost the game by 3 points.
Jayden Bezzant top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Raymond Penny posted 13. Jack Salt delivered 10, while Ihaka Pink tossed in 8. Samuel Sotelo answered with 13 points in the losing case and Bruce Merrill notched 12. Michael Sakazaki and Joshua Sebastian followed them with 8 points apiece in a loss.

Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo (B League) added to their roster 25-year old American center Daniel Miller (211-117kg-91, college: Georgia Tech). He played this summer at Augusta Taranaki Mountain Airs in New Zealand NBL league. In 18 games he recorded 13.9ppg, 10.6rpg (#2 in the league), 2.4apg, 1.1spg and 1.9bpg. Newly promoted ASP Promitheas Patras (A1) strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old American guard McKenzie Moore (198-86kg-92, college: UTEP, agency: Two Points). He played this summer at Canterbury in New Zealand NBL league. In 13 games he was fifth best scorer with impressive 22.4ppg and had 6.2rpg, 8.0apg (leader !!!) and 3.4spg (leader !!!). Markelle Fultz (6'5''-SG-98) continued his impressive debut with the Huskies and carried the Washington men's basketball team to a 92-79 exhibition win in New Zealand over Mainland Eagles Academy.
