Tall Blacks and NZ Breakers legend Dillon Boucher (196-F-75) has signed with Wellington Saints for the 2013 Bartercard NBL season.

Boucher (37) will play his 20th NBL season with the Saints, having previously played for the Auckland Stars, Waikato Pistons, Harbour Heat and, most recently, the Auckland Pirates.

He will also hold an assistant coaching position for the Saints, with a strong focus on player development.

Collecting two ANBL titles with the NZ Breakers and one with the Brisbane Bullets, Boucher brings a wealth of experience to the Saints.

Saints head coach Pero Cameron is still trying to process the quality of signings for next season.

'Dillon is a great asset to our team. not only for his ability on court, but for the skills he will bring to our development players. I'm looking forward to Dillon and the team coming together to contest another championship.'

Boucher has played 325 NBL games, winning nine championship titles and being named in the All-Star Five three times. Boucher was a member of the Tall Black team that finished fourth at the 2002 FIBA World Championship for Men and was named 2010 ANBL Defensive Player of the Year with the NZ Breakers.

The Saints have signed Boucher, CASEY FRANK, COREY WEBSTER, DAMIEN EKENASIO, JORDAN MILLS and ARTHUR TROUSDELL and have four spots left on their roster for next years NBL, with two import positions still available.

FIBA QT in Manilla: France defeat New Zealand 66-59 - 20 days ago

For three whole periods, France seemed but shells of their true selves, but they finally righted the ship in the fourth quarter to defeat New Zealand, 66-59, on the third day of the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Manila. Turning Point: New Zealand seemed to gain full control after a Corey Webster basket gave them a 50-38 lead early in the fourth quarter, but France had other plans. Les Bleus uncorked a searing 22-2 blast that obliterated the Tall Blacks' lead and permanently...   [read more]

FIBA QT in Manilla: New Zealand break Philippine hearts - 21 days ago

New Zealand withstood every rally that Philippines mounted and came out victorious, 89-80, on the second day of the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Manila. The Tall Blacks led nearly wire to wire and eliminated Gilas Pilipinas from Olympic contention. Turning Point: The hosts managed to trim what once was a 13-point deficit to just a solitary point, 60-59, early in the fourth quarter, but that's when New Zealand, behind the efforts of Thomas Abercrombie (198-F/G-87, college: W...   [read more]
