Melbourne Boomers (WNBL) signed 24-year old New Zealander international forward Jessica Bygate (186-92) from Adelaide Link Lightning. In 17 WNBL games in Australia she had 3.3ppg and 1.7rpg last season.
The most of previous (2015) summer Bygate spent at Power (QBL) where in 12 games she recorded 9.5ppg and 6.0rpg in 2015 season. She helped them to make it to the final. A very impressive season as she was voted Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand WBC Forward of the Year and named to 1st Team. Bygate also played that season for Nelson in New Zealand league. Quite impressive season as she was voted Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand WBC Forward of the Year and named to 1st Team.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others she won New Zealand WBC championship title in 2012. Bygate was also voted Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand WBC Player of the Year back in 2012.
She represented New Zealand at the FIBA Oceania Championships last year. Bygate's team won Silver and her stats at that event were 2 games: 3.5ppg, 5.0rpg.
