According to a tweet from BYU assistant coach Dan Nielson , the Cougars picked up a commitment from USC transfer Khaedin Taito (5'11''-G-97) on Saturday. Taito is a 5-foot-11 guard from Hastings, New Zealand. A former member of the New Zealand Junior National Team, Taito played in 32 games for the Women of Troy in 2015-16, starting 16. She averaged 2.3 points per game. The connection would seem to be current Cougar Kalani Purcell, who is also from New Zealand. It would also be assumed that Taito would not be eligible to play until the 2016-17 season, but we'll find out more when BYU releases its roster. The Cougars lost West Coast Conference Player of the Year Lexi Rydalch to graduation after posting a 26-7 overall record last season. BYU's freshmen class includes Rydalch's younger sister, Liz Eaton, of Springville; returned missionary Jessica Chatman (daughter of former Cougar legend Jeff Chatman) and Colorado prep guard Brenna Chase.
