Moore
24-year old guard McKenzie Moore (198-G-92, agency: Two Points) had an amazing evening in the last round for Canterbury and receives a Australiabasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Southland S. (#2, 9-6) 79-71. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Canterbury maintains the 4th position in New Zealand league. Canterbury is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-7 record. In the team's last game Moore had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Canterbury, being already a very valuable addition to the team. McKenzie Moore averages this season 17.2ppg, 7.6rpg and 7.6apg.

Second best performed player last round was Tai Wesley (201-F-86, agency: MKP Management) of top-ranked Wellington S.. He is American-Fijian forward in his first season at Wellington S.. In the last game Wesley recorded impressive 25 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Wellington S. cruised to a 106-95 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked SC Rangers (#3, 8-6). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Wellington S. consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. He plays for the best team in the league and Wellington S. managed to win all 16 games keeping a perfect record. Wesley is one of the most experienced players at Wellington S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.2ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 7.8rpg and 3.5apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Mitchell McCarron (191-G-92) of SC Rangers (#3). McCarron scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite McCarron's great performance SC Rangers lost 95-106 to #1 ranked Wellington S.. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing SC Rangers needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 8 victories and 6 lost games. McCarron has a great season in New Zealand. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.4ppg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Lindsay Tait (190-G-82) of SC Rangers - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Tylor Ongwae (199-F-91) of Taranaki MA - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Everard Bartlett (193-G-86) of Taylor Hawks - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
7. Leon Henry (200-F-85) of Wellington S. - 10 points and 21 rebounds
8. Alonzo Burton (193-G-93) of Taranaki MA - 27 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Reuben Te Rangi (198-F/G-94) of Southland S. - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Shea Ili (184-G-92) of Wellington S. - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
