Jeremy
Kendle
American Jeremy Kendle (186-G-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Canterbury and that's him to receive a Australiabasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 28-year old guard had the game-high 27 points adding six rebounds and eight assists for Canterbury in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Nelson G. (#5, 4-14) 91-90. Canterbury maintains the 4th position in New Zealand NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Canterbury will need more victories to improve their 10-8 record. In the team's last game Kendle had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Canterbury, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Bellarmine University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Kendle is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.3ppg), assists (5th best: 5.6apg) and averages solid 53.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young former international forward Finn Delany (198-F-95) of Nelson G.. Delany impressed basketball fans with 40 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Nelson G. was edged by slightly higher-ranked Canterbury (#4, 10-8) 91-90. Despite lost game Nelson G. moved up to 5th position in the standings. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Nelson G. managed to get this year. Delany is one of the most experienced players at Nelson G. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#8). He also registered 6.1 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Amir Williams (211-C-92) of Taylor Hawks (#7). Williams scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Taylor Hawks, leading his team to a 85-73 win against Taranaki MA (4-14). Taylor Hawks can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 4-14 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Williams he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Williams has individually a great season in New Zealand. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.9rpg (2nd best). He also has 1.6bpg and FGP: 57.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jarrod Kenny (188-G-85) of Taylor Hawks - 25 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists
5. Lindsay Tait (190-G-82) of SC Rangers - 14 points, 5 rebounds and 15 assists
6. Nnanna Egwu (211-F/C-92) of SC Rangers - 21 points and 7 rebounds
7. Tai Wesley (201-F-86) of Wellington S. - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Sam Dempster (192-G/F-90) of Nelson G. - 16 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
