Here is the weekly review of the top performing New Zealand players, who play currently abroad.

#1. This week's number one is an international forward Isaac Fotu (203-93, college: Hawaii, currently plays in Germany). He led ratiopharm Ulm to a victory over the 12th-ranked BG Goettingen (3-15) 94-84 in the German BBL in Saturday night's game. Fotu was MVP of the game. He scored 24 points and added 3 passes in 29 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Fotu's third season in pro basketball. Ratiopharm Ulm (12-7) is placed sixth in the BBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Fotu's first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season: 12.6ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 66.4% (87-131), 3FGP: 66.7% and FT: 77.4% in 19 games he played so far. Fotu has a dual citizenship: Tongan and New Zealand. He is currently a member of the New Zealand senior national team.

#2. Second place goes to former international power forward Steven Adams (213-93, college: Pittsburgh, currently plays in NBA). Adams could not help the Oklahoma City Thunder (31-25) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance the Oklahoma City Thunder (31-25) was defeated 114-100 on the road by the New Orleans Pelicans. Adams recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks. Adams is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Thunder's roster. Adams has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 13.9ppg, 9.0rpg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 63.3% (304-480) and FT: 59.2%. Adams played for the New Zealand national team in 2011.

#3. The New Zealand player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Tai Jack Webster (193-95, college: Nebraska, currently plays in Germany). He was not able to help Deutsche Bank Skyliners (11-9) in their last game. Despite Webster's very good performance Deutsche Bank Skyliners lost 81-88 in Ludwigsburg to the higher-ranked (#3) EnBW. He was the top scorer with 24 points. Webster also added 3 passes in 26 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It's Webster's first year with the team. Webster has very impressive stats this season: 15.8ppg, 4.4rpg, 4.9apg, 2FGP: 49.3%, 3FGP: 47.8% (32-67) and FT: 82.0% in 20 games. Ex-Advice First Waikato Pistons player is also a member of the New Zealand senior national team.

#4. Guard Corey Webster (188-88, agency: Alti Sport, college: Lambuth, currently plays in Israel) was the major contributor in an Ironi Nahariya's victory against the closely-ranked Galil Gilboa (8-8) 101-97 in the Israeli Winner League last Sunday. Webster recorded 18 points, 3 assists and 3 steals in 30 minutes. Ironi Nahariya (7-9) is placed eighth in the Winner League. It's Webster's first season with the team. He has very impressive stats this year: 15.8ppg, 2.3rpg, 3.6apg and 1.3spg in 16 games. Webster is also New Zealand national team player.

#5. International guard Shea Ili (184-92, currently plays in Australia) contributed to a New Zealand Breakers' victory against the closely-ranked Illawarra Hawks (10-15) 88-84 in the Australian NBL on Sunday night. He scored 17 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). New Zealand Breakers (15-10) are placed third in the NBL. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Ili's overall stats this season are: 9.3ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.9apg. He plays currently for the New Zealand national team.

#6. Forward Thomas Abercrombie (198-87, college: Washington St., currently plays in Australia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Shea Ili and both played together in the last Australian NBL game. Abercrombie helped New Zealand Breakers win their game against the closely-ranked Illawarra Hawks (10-15) 88-84. He scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 27 minutes. This year Abercrombie has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.3bpg in 25 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior New Zealand National Team roster.

International guard Jarrod Kenny (188-85, currently plays in Australia) was not able to secure a victory for Perth Wildcats (15-11) in their game against Adelaide 36ers (16-10) in the Australian NBL. Kenny scored 9 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 5 assists. But Perth Wildcats were defeated 94-82 in Findon by the second-ranked Adelaide 36ers. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Kenny's overall stats this season are: 4.9ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.4apg. He is also New Zealand national team player.

#8. Forward Robert Loe (211-91, college: St.Louis, currently plays in Australia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Shea Ili. But that was another game of his team in Australian NBL which we would like to mention. Loe helped New Zealand Breakers win their game against the closely-ranked Illawarra Hawks (10-15) 77-73. He scored 11 points in 22 minutes. New Zealand Breakers (15-10) are placed third in the NBL. This year Loe's overall stats are: 7.0ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.1apg in 25 games. He plays currently for the New Zealand national team.

International swingman Reuben Te Rangi (198-94, currently plays in Australia) helped Bullets win their game against the closely-ranked Illawarra Hawks (10-15) 99-91 in the Australian NBL in Thursday night's game. Te Rangi scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Brisbane Bullets (9-16) are placed second from the bottom (#7) in the NBL. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Te Rangi's total stats this season are: 7.0ppg and 2.8rpg. He is also in the roster of the New Zealand national team.

#10. Center Mika Vukona (197-82, currently plays in Australia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Shea Ili. However that was another game of his team in Australian NBL which brought him to that list. Vukona couldn't help New Zealand Breakers (15-10) in their game against United (18-7). He scored 8 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 17 minutes. New Zealand Breakers lost 83-89 in Melbourne to the leading United. This year Vukona's total stats are: 6.4ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.9apg in 25 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior New Zealand National Team roster.

#11. Former international swingman Kirk Penney (196-80, agency: Duran International, college: Wisconsin, currently plays in Australia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Shea Ili. He played also in the last Australian NBL game facing Robert Loe (above) in the other team. Penney helped New Zealand Breakers win their game against the closely-ranked Illawarra Hawks 77-73. He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Penney has averaged so far 9.9ppg and 2.7rpg. He used to play for the New Zealand national team three years ago.

#12. International center Alex Pledger (215-87, college: Belm.Abbey, currently plays in Australia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Shea Ili. He played also in the last Australian NBL game facing Kirk Penney (above) in the other team. Pledger helped New Zealand Breakers win their game against the closely-ranked Illawarra Hawks 77-73. He scored 8 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and made 3 blocks. Pledger has averaged so far 6.6ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.1bpg. He is also in the roster of the New Zealand national team.

#13. International forward Finn Delany (198-95, college: SW Baptist, currently plays in Australia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Shea Ili. He played also in the last Australian NBL game facing Mika Vukona (above) in the other team. Delany couldn't help New Zealand Breakers in their game against United. He scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 20 minutes. His team lost 83-89. Delany has averaged so far 4.7ppg and 3.2rpg in 25 games. He is also New Zealand national team player.

#14. U19 international forward Samuel Waardenburg (206-99, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Miami, FL win their game against the Wake Forest University 87-81 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game. Waardenburg recorded 12 points. Waardenburg has averaged so far 2.8ppg and 2.5rpg. He plays currently for the New Zealand U19 national team.

#15. Former U19 international guard Jayden Bezzant (188, currently plays in NCAA2) helped Northwest Nazarene University win their game against the Simon Fraser University 82-69 in the NCAA2 last Thursday. Bezzant scored 16 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 28 minutes. Bezzant has reliable stats this year: 13.6ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.6apg and 1.6spg in 18 games. He used to play for the New Zealand U19 national team three years ago.

The list of other players, who all have New Zealand passport but never been selected to any of New Zealand national teams:

#1. Aron Baynes (208-C-86, college: Washington St., currently plays in NBA) led Boston Celtics to a victory against the Atlanta Hawks (17-38) 119-110 in the NBA in Friday night's game. He scored 11 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 5 assists. The Boston Celtics have a solid 40-16 record this season. Baynes' overall stats this year are: 5.7ppg and 5.3rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Australian and New Zealand.

#2. Isaac Davidson (201-F, currently plays in NCAA2) could not help the Sonoma State University (7-10) in their last game. Despite Davidson's very good performance the Sonoma State University lost 64-71 on the road to the University of California at San Diego. He recorded 26 points (!!!) and added 3 assists (made all of his seven free throws) in 31 minutes. Davidson has averaged so far 8.7ppg and 3.0rpg in 20 games he played so far.

#3. Izayah Mauriohooho-Le'afa (188-G-96, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the Sacramento St. (3-7) in their last game on Friday. Despite Mauriohooho-Le'afa's good performance his team was badly defeated 92-76 at home by the Montana State University. He scored 11 points and added 5 passes. Mauriohooho-Le'afa has averaged so far 8.6ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.9apg and 1.2spg. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Mauriohooho-Le'afa has never played in New Zealand.

#4. Nikau McCullough (188-G-97, currently plays in NCAA2) was not able to secure a victory for the Saint Mary's (TX) University (3-6) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his good performance the Saint Mary's (TX) University was defeated 81-68 in Wichita by the Newman University. McCullough recorded 11 points. McCullough has averaged so far 3.9ppg and 1.1rpg.

#5. Brandon Watkins (198-F, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the Mars Hill College (1-12) in their game against the Coker College (6-8) in the NCAA2. He scored 5 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 12 minutes. his team lost 84-92 in Hartsville to the Coker College. Watkins has been at the team for four years. Watkins has averaged so far 5.5ppg and 4.1rpg in 17 games.

#6. Experienced Simon Bennett (188-G-85, currently plays in Germany) managed to help BSG Grevenbroich to win against the sixth-ranked Ibbenbueren 82-80 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) last Saturday. He recorded only 2 points. Bennett has averaged so far 2.4ppg and 1.5rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: New Zealand and German.

#7. Jordan Hunt (206-F, currently plays in NAIA) contributed to an Southern Oregon University's surprising victory against the Walla Walla College crushing them 90-68 in the Cascade in Saturday night's game. Hunt recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 12 rebounds. He has averaged so far 2.4ppg and 1.5rpg.

#8. Sam Smith (193-G, currently plays in NAIA) contributed to a 2-point Texas Wesleyan University's victory against the Wayland Baptist University 68-66 in the NAIA last Saturday. Smith recorded 8 points and added 3 assists in 22 minutes. He has averaged so far 8.1ppg, 5.0rpg and 2.7apg in 20 games.

#9. Marcel Jones (203-F-85, college: Oregon St., currently plays in Bahrain) led Al-Riffa to a victory over the tenth-ranked Sitra crushing them 81-59 in the Bahrain Premier League on Sunday night. Jones was the best player in that game. He scored 36 points (!!!), grabbed 9 boards, handed out 4 passes and blocked 3 shots. Jones has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 32.5ppg, 17.0rpg, 3.3apg and 2.4spg. Jones is a naturalized American. He used to play for McDonalds Manawatu Jets in New Zealand league.

KURAN IVERSON 22-year old forward Kuran Iverson (206-F-95) had a great game in the last round for Manawatu J. and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 4. He had the game-high 38 points adding eight rebounds and two assists for Manawatu J. as his team was edged out by Nelson G. (#3, 4-2) 87-85. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. Second defeat of league's leader Hawks (4-2) against fourth ranked Sharks (4-2) 104-74 was the most important game of the last round.
