Palau Women recorded their first win in the tournament with a 48-31 victory over Micronesia. The Men also defeated the Micronesia side and are ranked second in the pool A, they will face Papua New Guinea in the quarterfinals on saturday.

 

Men: Palau - Micronesia: 62-54
Palau claimed its second win in three game with this one. Palau is ranked 2nd in the pool B, they will play Papua New Guinea in the quarterfinals and might join the semifinals for the first time in the country history. Sunshine Soalablai led a very well balanced Palau team with 9pts 3/12FG 10rbs in 29min, Bryan Smau, Wallace Rikrik , Jeffrey Tkel and Boaz Etpison scored 6pts each.

Palau recorded its first game in the women tournament. The team took an early lead in the game and reached half-time on a 28-8 score. Jaime Ngirausui scored 10pts 4/18FG 9rbs and 24min, Cheryl Rengulbai added 8pts 4/5FG in 17min and Stephanie Ngirchoimei posted 7pts 3/13FG 12rbs in 33min. Only the top 4 teams in the women tournament will play in the semifinals.

Peched Raw made an impossible feat as they went on retain their title as champions after beating Ngermid Rivals, 93-87 in Game Five of the 2014 IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) at the Palau National gym. Palau takes the bronze medal at Micronesian Games - 3 Years ago
July 29, down at The National Campus, Palikir, Palau and Kosrae go head to head in the men's basketball division for the bronze medal. Palau was leading in the first quarter, 17-11. By the end of the 2nd quarter, KSA came up by one point ahead of Palau, 32-31. After halftime, Palau took the lead again, 53-52. The final was 72-70 in favor of Palau.
