During 10 days of competition, the best players from Palau competed for their state pride in the 2006 Belau Games. The 13 Men teams played in a double elimination bracket format. Peleliu won a very close contest against Ngchesar in the semifinals 56-55 on a decisive shot in the dying seconds. Ngchesar had to play a Preliminary Final and beat Sonsorol to have the opportunity to have a revenge in the Championship game. But Peleliu was too strong and managed to win again in the final minutes to secure the Gold medal.

Games were held at the Palau National Gym and there was an atmosphere in the gym like the MSPG competition as there are old rivalries between the state teams and the communities came out in full force cheering for their state teams. The games were very competative and as the players were playing for their state pride.
