THE National Souths Basketball League (NSBL) championships set for May 18-20 has been deferred to next month.
This was the decision by the organising committee after considering that the games would coincide with the issue of election writs.
The championships will now be held during the Queens Birthday weekend from June 8-11 in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands.
The venues will be the Queens Park and Holy Trinity basketball courts, and YC indoor stadium at Rebiamul.
This year will be the fifth consecutive year for the countrys biggest basketball tournament which gives Souths basketball teams a chance to meet and compete by uniting basketball players from Southern Highlands.
Mendi MP Pr Isaac Joseph is the patron and sponsor of the tournament along with the Mineral Resources Development Company.
