ANZ Super Kicked off - May 4, 2004

The ANZ Super Six Basketball Championship Championship had kicked off last weekend on a very high note with the inclusive of 1 RAMSI Mens Team, 1 RSIP participatin police force team and also RAMSI & PPF Womens who had spread out in joing some local womens team in the competition, which has boost the moral of the Super Six and also the game itself.

A total of nine Mens team(s) and 7 Womens team(s) had entered in the ANZ Super Six. The SIBF Committee had agreed to increase the number of team(s) from 6 to 9 for Mens and 6 to 7 for Womens following the increased number of teams who had shown their interest to take part in the competition.

Solomon Island Federation is working on ways to conduct the ANZ Super Six Championship effectively in terms of administratively as it will pave ways to other future proposed basketball championship, especially the Solomon Game Basketball Championship in June 2004.  



Tip Off final showdown - 12 days ago
The Tip Off Basketball Challenge men's finals are set to kick off at the Multipurpose Hall on Sunday. This year's men's grand final will again feature last year's finalists, Marist and Gunnerz men's basketball club. These two teams made their way through following two weekends of tough group matches. Malaita Province wins Gold in Men's Division - 2 Years ago
Malaita Province wins Gold in Men's Division. Malaita Province showed strong form through their pool and playoff games, cruising to the gold medal match undefeated. With 8 participating teams, top 4 advanced to the play-off games and then the final. In the Final game Malaita Province overcame Western Province that took Silver. New executive for SIBF - 2 Years ago
The Solomon Islands Basketball federation (SIBF) has a new executive. The new executive was elected last Sunday during the SIBF's annual general meeting (AGM) held at the office of the National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands (NOCSI). Former SIBF president Brian Pongotapu was re-elected, the vice president is Delma Nori, Secretary Lysa Wini, Treasurer Debbie Sade and members Fa'amoana Topue, Uriel Matangani and Augustine Basia.
