Vanuatu is a small country in Oceania, which is not well-known in the World about it's basketball achievements. However Vanuatu team is very active in the local international championships. In the last Oceania Championships at Suva, Fiji in 2001, Vanuatu took surprising 7th place.

Six school team from Ambae, three from Pentecost and one from Maevo, including total of ten school participate on that event. Basketball competition was slowly improve compare to the past yaer and till 2014 the competition level came to show that players a show there potential in the competition and fight for there victory. No Vanuatu teams in the South Pacific Games - 10 Years ago
The Vanuatu Basketball Federation decided not to send the National team to play in the upcoming 2007 South Pacific Games which will be held in Samoa at the end of August. This is obviously a huge setback for basketball in the country, hopefully the country will be able to field a team in the 2008 FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament in Guam.   [read more]

Stade United is the new champion of the Port-Vila Basketball Association. The SU players defeated the defending champion Cannons in the semifinals before defeating Ginias 57-47 in the final game at the Angilcan Mission Court.
