The basketball season re-open in Port Vila. This year's pre season tournament is already giving an indication that the Port Vila basketball Association is heading towards another heavy and challenging season. PVBA has a line up of tournaments schedule for this year and has an original membership of 13 clubs who each have various numbers of teams. New clubs have been formed this year witch means more players and teams will register.

Saturday 11th of March was the opening of the tournament. Like most of the pre season tournament an "All in one division" competition is being drawn and teams will be back to their proper divisions later on for the annual championship. The men's division is composed of four pools of three teams. The competition will end up with the winners of each pools to play the semi finals. The women's division is played in two pools of four and the semi finals will be played between the winners and runner up of each pools.
Late registrations has caused some teams to be left out for the tournament. PVBA encourages all teams to keep the date line of registrations so that no one is missed out for the 2006 Championship.
