The New Zealand Breakers have extended their playing roster.

With big Aussie centre Ben Melmeth returning from injury, replacement Iona Enosa's future was left up in the air.

Enosa originally came on board just for a month to cover Melmeth's injury.

But Breakers coach Jeff Green says management have discovered they can keep the American Samoan as their second import and fit him under their salary cap.

Green says he was over the moon when Enosa agreed to terms, which bolsters their ranks big time.

He says their front line of Enosa, Melmeth, Casey Frank, Blake Truslove and Pero Cameron is one of the biggest in the league.

Green the big front line gives them no excuses not to win games.

He is also delighted with the return from injury of Melmeth who he says can score at will.

Green says his return will make them very competitive from now on.

The Breakers host the West Sydney Razorbacks in Auckland on Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, there is no pressure on Ben Melmeth to stay on court if he tweaks his thigh injury this weekend.

Melmeth says although he is back taking a full part in practice, he expects to take another fortnight to reach peak match fitness.

He says there is now plenty of back-up in the squad, so if he feels a twinge he will be off the court very quickly.
