Samoa posted second consecutive win in Kaitaia at the Polynesian Games 2022. They overcame American Samoa 106:70.
Samoa nailed 35 points in the first period and led 18 points at the halftime. American Samoa replied with a 20-14 run in the third quarter, whilst Samoa closed the game with a final 38-14 surge.
Shareef Saipaia stepped up with 24 points for the winners and Derhyse Matautia (178-G-2002) delivered 16. Jeremiah Tuimaseve (1993) answered with 15 points in a loss and Virgil Burton as well as Onosai Sofara produced 12 each.
