American Ali Schwagmeyer (180-F-90) had an amazing evening in the last round for Lakeside L. and that's her to receive a Australiabasket.com State League Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 26-year old forward had the game-high 38 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Lakeside L. in her team's victory, helping them to beat Joondalup W. (#6, 3-2) 81-71. Lakeside L. maintains the 4th position in their group in Australian State League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Lakeside L. will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. In the team's last game Schwagmeyer had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. She turned to be Lakeside L.'s top player in her first season with the team. Quincy University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Schwagmeyer is in league's top in points (5th best: 22.3ppg) and averages solid 50.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old forward Olivia Thompson (185-F-93) of Forestville E.. Thompson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 21 rebounds. Of course she led Forestville E. to another comfortable win outscoring C.Districts L. (#10, 0-4) 83-51. This victory allowed Forestville E. to move up to 5th position in Premier League. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But 2-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Thompson is one of the most experienced players at Forestville E. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.5ppg (#9). Her other stats are also decent: 16.5rpg and 4.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Forestville E.'s star - Samantha Defrancesco. Defrancesco got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. She went also for twelve rebounds and six assists. Despite Defrancesco's great performance Forestville E. lost 81-84 to slightly higher-ranked Eastern M. (#4, 3-1). But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The last thing Forestville E. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Premier League. Their record is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Defrancesco has a very solid season. In 4 games in Australia she scored 20.5ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Alex Wilson (174-G-94) of Eastern M. - 29 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Suzy Batkovic-Brown (195-C-80) of Newcastle H. - 32 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Mua Laloifi) of Hume City B. - 37 points and 8 rebounds
7. Tahlia Tupaea (174-G-97) of Sydney Uni S. - 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Jessica Good (186-F-94) of Norwood F. - 20 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists
9. Kersten Mitchell (185-F-90) of Cockburn C. - 29 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Erin Todd (175-G-86) of Manly Warr. SE - 26 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Australian State League round 15 best performance: Mikhaela Donnelly - 1 day ago
MIKHAELA DONNELLY Swingman Mikhaela Donnelly (177-F/G-94) had a very impressive game in the last round for Logan T., receiving a Interperformances State League Player of the Week award for round 15. The 23-year old player got a double-double of 28 points and 13 assists, while her team crushed Gold Coast R. (#13, 1-7) with 21-point margin 107-86. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings in QBL. Logan T. maintains the 12th posit...   [read more]

State Leagues Round-Up - 2 days ago
There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management. The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Knox Raiders (11-2) in Wantirna South on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by sixth ranked Sharks (6-5) 93-73. Sharks forced 20 Knox Raiders turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Sharks especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 pe...   [read more]
