MELO TRIMBLE

23-year old guard Melo Trimble (190-G-95) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Taipans and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 1.
He had the game-high 32 points adding five rebounds and three assists for Taipans in his team's victory, helping them to crush Bullets (#3, 1-1) with 18-point margin 88-70. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Taipans is placed at 2nd position in Australian league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Taipans won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Trimble had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Taipans' top player in his first season with the team. University of Maryland graduate has very impressive stats this year. Trimble is league's best scorer averaging so far 32.0ppg. Trimble is in league's top in and averages solid 85.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Daniel Johnson (212-C/F-88) of 36ers. He is former international in his first season at 36ers. In the last game Johnson recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as 36ers lost that game 91-99 to Wildcats (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Johnson is a newcomer at 36ers and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.5ppg (#3). He also registered 10.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Josh Boone (208-F-84) of United (#6). Boone scored 24 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of United, leading his team to a 123-122 win against Hawks (#8, 0-2). United needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Boone has a great season in Australia. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Cameron Gliddon (197-G/F-89) of Bullets - 29 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
5. D.J. Newbill (193-G-92) of Taipans - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Todd Blanchfield (200-F/G-91) of Hawks - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Tai Wesley (201-F-86) of Breakers - 25 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
8. DJ Kennedy (198-F-89) of United - 21 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Nick Kay (206-C/F-92) of Wildcats - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. AJ Ogilvy (211-C-88) of Hawks - 15 points, 21 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over.
