SHAWN LONG

American Shawn Long (208-F-93, agency: Pensack Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for Breakers and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and eighteen rebounds, while his team beat 36ers (#5, 9-9) 104-96. Breakers is placed at 6th position in Australian NBL. Breakers is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-9 record. In the team's last game Long had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Breakers' top player in his first season with the team. University Louisiana at Lafayette graduate has very impressive stats this year. Long is in league's top in points (9th best: 15.4ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 8.9rpg) and averages solid 1.5bpg and 55.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 34-year old former international center Andrew Bogut (213-C-84) of league's best team Kings. Bogut impressed basketball fans with 8 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Kings lost that game 71-78 to the lower-ranked Hawks (#7, 8-10). Despite lost game Kings moved up to 1st position in the standings. His team has currently 12-6 record. Bogut is a newcomer at Kings and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Brian Conklin (201-F-89) of Hawks (#7). Conklin scored 17 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Hawks, leading his team to a 78-71 win against the higher-ranked Kings (#1, 12-6). The chances of Hawks ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Conklin could help Hawks to bring them higher in the standings. Conklin has a very solid season. In 18 games in Australia he scored 13.8ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Devon Hall (196-G-95) of Taipans - 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Tai Wesley (201-F-86) of Breakers - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Lamar Patterson (196-G/F-91) of Bullets - 27 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Nathan Sobey (190-G-90) of 36ers - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Casper Ware (178-PG-90) of United - 29 points and 5 assists
9. Bryce Cotton (185-G-92) of Wildcats - 27 points and 4 rebounds
10. Melo Trimble (190-G-95) of Taipans - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
