Melo Trimble
MELO TRIMBLE

American Guard Melo Trimble (190-G-95) had a great game in the last round for Taipans, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, five rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Breakers (#7, 8-12) 106-98. Taipans maintains the 8th position in Australian NBL. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 17 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Trimble had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Taipans' top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Maryland star has very solid stats this year. Trimble is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.7ppg), assists (5th best: 4.2apg) and averages impressive 44.7% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old former international swingman Todd Blanchfield (200-F/G-91) of Hawks. Blanchfield had a very good evening with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Hawks cruised to a 107-96 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Breakers (#7, 8-12). Hawks' 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-11 record. Blanchfield is a newcomer at Hawks, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international Nick Kay (206-C/F-92) of league's second-best Wildcats. Kay scored 18 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Wildcats, leading his team to a 84-79 win against #3 ranked United in a game of the week. Wildcats needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 9 lost games. Kay has a great season in Australia. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.4rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Robert Loe (211-F-91) of Taipans - 19 points and 7 rebounds
5. Lamar Patterson (196-G/F-91) of Bullets - 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Daniel Johnson (212-C/F-88) of 36ers - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Nathan Sobey (190-G-90) of 36ers - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Bryce Cotton (185-G-92) of Wildcats - 27 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Tai Wesley (201-F-86) of Breakers - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Mitchell McCarron (191-G-92) of United - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over.
