Washington
Andrew Ogilvy had a great game in the last round for Rockhampton, receiving a Interperformances State League Player of the Week award for round 9.
The player had a double-double of 36 points and 13 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Gladstone P. (#10, 0-1) with 17-point margin 109-92. Rockhampton is placed at 4th position in their group in Australian State League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Rockhampton won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Ogilvy had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Rockhampton and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader.

The second best player in last round's games was 22-year old American Bryce Washington (198-F-96) of league's leader Mackay M.. Washington had a very good evening with a double-double of 33 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Mackay M. was edged by the lower-ranked Gold Coast R. (#7, 2-0) 87-83. Mackay M. managed to keep the same 1st spot in QBL. His team has currently 2-1 record. Washington is one of the most experienced players at Mackay M. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Anthony Fisher (187-G-94) of Cairns M. (#8). Fisher got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds . He was a key player of Cairns M., leading his team to a 87-74 easy win against SD Spartans (#15, 0-2). The chances of Cairns M. not to end season at such low position in QBL, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Fisher could try to bring Cairns M.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Fisher has a very solid season. In 3 games in Australia he scored 23.7ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Zach Allmon (203-F) of S.Adelaide P. - 37 points, 18 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Joshua Braun (193-G/F-94) of Kalamunda E.S. - 33 points, 2 rebounds and 14 assists
6. Ray Turner (206-F-90) of Bendigo B. - 32 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Konor Kulas (201-F-94) of Werribee D. - 34 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Mike Anderson (193-G-91) of Keilor T. - 32 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists
9. Brandon Brine (198-F-91) of Norwood F. - 26 points and 19 rebounds
10. Jarred Bairstow (201-F-92) of SW Metro P. - 31 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over. State Leagues Round-Up - 3 days ago
The round was exceptionally exciting as eight games ended with a tiny margin. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Cougars (10-1) in McKinnon on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked Cavaliers (9-2) 125-123. It...   [read more]

Ben Simmons (208-PG-96, college: LSU) has announced he will be a Boomer this year, making his debut for Australia ahead of the 2019 Basketball World Cup.
