Deng Acouth
Deng Acouth had a very impressive game in the last round for league's second-best Ballarat M. and that's him to receive a Interperformances State League Player of the Week award for round 10.
The had a double-double of 21 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team outclassed Albury W.B. (#9, 3-2) with 63-point margin 126-63. Ballarat M. maintains the 2nd position in their group in Australian State League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Ballarat M. already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Acouth had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Ballarat M., being already a very valuable addition to the team. Deng Acouth averages this season 10.6ppg and 8.6rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old former international forward Dane Pineau (206-F-94) of Melbourne T.. Pineau impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 22 rebounds. Of course Melbourne T. cruised to a 113-101 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Sandringham S. (#16, 2-5). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the top position in NBL1. But Melbourne T. managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 11th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-4 record. Pineau is one of the most experienced players at Melbourne T. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Jalen Adams (196-G) of Hobart H. (#18). Adams got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds . He was a key player of Hobart H., leading his team to a 106-87 easy win against the higher-ranked Ringwood H. (#15, 2-4). Hobart H. can only dream about fighting for top spots in NBL1. They have rather bad season and 2-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Adams he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Adams has a very solid season. In 7 games in Australia he scored 24.6ppg. He also has 7.7rpg, 3.1spg and and 3PT: 41.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Corey Standerfer (201-PF-88) of Chelsea G. - 40 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Josh Derksen (206-F-95) of SD Spartans - 30 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Greg Mays (203-F-93) of Forestville E. - 33 points and 12 rebounds
7. Geremy McKay (201-F-96) of Eltham W. - 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Bryan Jefferson (201-F-94) of W.Adelaide B. - 31 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Ray Turner (206-F-90) of Bendigo B. - 30 points and 11 rebounds
10. David Barlow (205-F-83) of Sandringham S. - 25 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over. With more than forty-eight years of experience, INTERPERFORMANCES is well known to all professional teams and clubs. General Managers trust and rely on our opinions and recommendations.

State Leagues Round-Up - 3 days ago
The round was exceptionally exciting as eight games ended with a tiny margin. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Cougars (10-1) in McKinnon on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked Cavaliers (9-2) 125-123. It...   [read more]
