Kentrell Barkley claims Australian State League Interperformances weekly honour - May 29, 2019

KENTRELL BARKLEY

American Kentrell Barkley (195-G/F-96, agency: Haylett Sports) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Mt Gambier and that's him to receive a Interperformances State League Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 22-year old swingman had a double-double of 34 points and seventeen rebounds, while his team crushed W.Adelaide B. (#7, 5-7) with 24-point margin 121-97. Mt Gambier maintains the 2nd position in their group in Australian State League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Mt Gambier will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. In the team's last game Barkley had a remarkable 92.9% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Mt Gambier, being already a very valuable addition to the team. East Carolina University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Barkley is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 16.1rpg) and averages solid 1.3bpg,2.4spg and 57.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old American forward Konor Kulas (201-F-94) of Werribee D.. Kulas impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 37 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Werribee D. cruised to a 106-99 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Corio Bay S. (#8, 2-11). This victory allowed Werribee D. to move up to 6th position in Big V. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-9 record. Kulas is a newcomer at Werribee D. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.1ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 12.3rpg and 3.3apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Colin Voss (201-PF-91) of Chelsea G. (#7). Voss got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for sixteen rebounds and six assists. Despite Voss' great performance Chelsea G. lost 83-89 to slightly higher-ranked Keilor T. (#5, 8-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Chelsea G. not to end season at such low position in Big V, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Voss could try to bring Chelsea G.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Voss has a very solid season. In 10 games in Australia he scored 19.0ppg. He also has 10.7rpg and FGP: 56.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ray Turner (206-F-90) of Bendigo B. - 26 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Jake Heath (185-G) of Blackburn V. - 35 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists
6. Anatoly Bose) of Norths Bears - 35 points and 19 rebounds
7. Alexander Starling (198-F-89) of N.Adelaide R. - 27 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Tad Dufelmeier (183-PG-96) of Hobart H. - 30 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Jourdan DeMuynck (198-G-90) of Perth R. - 44 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Bryan Jefferson (201-F-94) of W.Adelaide B. - 40 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over. With more than forty-eight years of experience, INTERPERFORMANCES is well known to all professional teams and clubs. General Managers trust and rely on our opinions and recommendations.

Hot-shooting China Beat NBL Select Team in Game 1 - 1 day ago
Team China caught fire through Rui Zhao (193-F-96) from long-range in the second quarter which set the stage for an eventual 89-77 win against the NBL Select Team in Game 1 of the three-match series in Qingdao.
