Australian NBL One round 17 best performance: Lauren Nicholson (by Hoops Agents)

International Guard Lauren Nicholson (183-G-1993) put on an amazing game in the last round for Sutherland Sharks, receiving a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 51 points and 11 rebounds, while her team beat Inner WB (#9, 9-11) 110-102. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings in east. Sharks is placed at 10th position in Australian NBL One. Sutherland is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-12 record. In the team's last game Nicholson had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 10 attempts. She has many years of experience at Sharks, through which she has constantly improved. Lauren Nicholson averages this season 37.0ppg, 7.5rpg and 6.0apg.

The second best player in last round's games was young international swingman Alexandra Sharp (182-F/G-1997) of Rockingham Flames. Sharp had a very good evening with a double-double of 34 points and 12 rebounds. Of course she led Flames to another comfortable win outscoring Willetton T. (11-7) 107-54. This victory allowed Rockingham F. to move up to 4th position in west. Her team's 11-7 record is not bad at all. Sharp is one of the most experienced players at Rockingham F. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Samantha Bowman (188-C) of Townsville Flames (#6). Bowman got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. She went also for sixteen rebounds and five assists. She was a key player of Flames, leading her team to a 89-74 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Rockhampton C. (#7, 5-8). Townsville F. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in north. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 6 lost games. Bowman has a great season in Australia. After 13 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.8rpg (9th best).
