The Regular Season in Big V just ended. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Pakenham. Second ranked host Warriors (18-4) defeated 3rd placed Cougars (16-6) 86-78. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Cougars. Pakenham W. made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Guard Grace Graham (180, college: UMKC) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and guard Briahna Whatman (170-1994) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. American guard Emily Lytle (180-1997, college: Virginia Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Warriors have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Pakenham W. maintains second place with 18-4 record behind leader Bellarine. McKinnon C. at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost.
Big V top team - Storm (19-3) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Jets (11-11) in Sunbury 76-72. Chantelle Hall nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and Olivia Virt accounted for 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Emmonnie Henderson (185-1994, college: Louisville) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for Sunbury J. in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Storm. Bellarine maintains first place with 19-3 record. Sunbury J. at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost.
The game in Tullamarine supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Boomers (15-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Hume City Broncos (7-15). Boomers smashed Hume City Broncos 89-49 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Jennie Rintala who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Boomers' coach Mason Rogers felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Madeline Holland produced 20 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Bulleen maintains fourth place with 15-7 record, which they share with Sherbrooke S. Hume City B. lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 15 games lost.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 17: Sherbrooke S. destroyed Warrnambool on the opponent's court 89-65. Warrandyte V. managed to outperform Wyndham D. in a home game 74-70. Warrnambool managed to beat Wyndham D. on the road 71-70.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 22 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals by Holly Dolny of Wyndham D..

Warrnambool - Sherbrooke S. 65-89

Very expected game when 9th ranked Warrnambool (3-19) was crushed at home by fifth ranked Suns (15-7) 89-65 on Saturday. Sherbrooke S. dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Warrnambool's 34 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Melissa Prior who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Oliana Squires (175-1998, college: Montana St.) chipped in 26 points and 7 rebounds. Four Suns players scored in double figures. Molly McLaren produced 28 points and Sienna Stone added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Warrnambool's coach Louise Brown gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Sherbrooke S. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bulleen. Loser Warrnambool keeps the ninth position with 19 games lost.

The game in Tullamarine supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Boomers (15-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Hume City Broncos (7-15). Boomers smashed Hume City Broncos 89-49 on Saturday. Bulleen outrebounded Hume City B. 51-28 including a 41-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bulleen looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jennie Rintala (188-1990, college: S.Dakota St.) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Maighan Hedge (178, college: Cameron) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Boomers players scored in double figures. Warrandyte V. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Devils's 28. Warrandyte V. forced 21 Wyndham D. turnovers. The best player for the winners was center Leah Swain (192-1988) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Michaela Kuen chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. But Devils were not able to use a home court advantage and were edged by the opponent from Warrnambool 71-70 on Sunday night. The best player for the winners was Sienna Stone who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Eve Covey chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Warrnambool players scored in double figures.
