Melissa Prior put on an amazing game in the last round for Sherbrooke Suns, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The player had a double-double of 28 points and 14 rebounds, while her team crushed Warrnambool (#9, 3-19) with 24-point margin 89-65. Suns maintains the 5th position in Australian Big V. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sherbrooke S. will need more victories to improve their 15-7 record. Prior turned to be Suns's top player in her first season with the team. Melissa Prior has solid league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 8.8rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Leah Swain (192-C-1988) of Warrandyte Venom. Swain had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds. It was enough for Venom to edge slightly lower-ranked Wyndham D. (#10, 2-20) 74-70. Warrandyte V.'s 8th position in the standings has not changed. 18 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Venom managed to get this year. Swain is a newcomer at Warrandyte V. and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Jennie Rintala (188-F/C-1990) of Bulleen Boomers (#4). Rintala scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Boomers, leading her team to a 89-49 easy win against the lower-ranked Hume City B. (#7, 7-15). Bulleen needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 15 victories and 7 lost games. Rintala has a great season in Australia. After 12 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.8ppg (8th best).

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
