American Mackenzie Holmes (190-F-2001, agency: LBM Management) put on an amazing game in the last round for Geelong United and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 24-year old forward had the game-high 33 points adding six rebounds and two assists for Geelong U. in her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Adelaide (#8, 0-2) with 34-point margin 110-76. United is placed at 4th position in Australian WNBL. Geelong U. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Holmes had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. She turned to be United's top player in her first season with the team. Indiana University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Holmes is league's best scorer averaging so far 26.5ppg. Holmes is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 8.5rpg) and averages solid 1.5bpg,69.0% FGP and 100.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international forward Anneli Maley (185-F-1998) of league's best team Perth Lynx. Maley impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds. It was enough for Perth Lynx to edge Sydney (1-2) by 6 points 73-67. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Maley is a newcomer at Perth and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was international center Cayla George (193-C-1989) of Southside Flyers Dandenong (#5). George scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Southside Flyers, leading her team to a 81-76 win against Sydney (#6, 1-2). Southside needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. George has a great season in Australia. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.0rpg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Courtney Woods (183-G/F-1997) of Townsville - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists
5. Jazmin Shelley (165-G-2000) of Geelong U. - 25 points and 5 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
