Forward Alicia Froling (190-F-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Townsville Fire, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, while her team outclassed Adelaide (#6, 3-6) with 26-point margin 90-64. It allowed Townsville Fire to consolidate first place in the Australian WNBL. Townsville have a solid 8-1 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Froling as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Former Southern Methodist University star has very solid stats this year. Froling is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 8.9rpg) and averages impressive 1.2bpg and 58.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Mackenzie Holmes (190-F-2001, agency: LBM Management) of Geelong United. Holmes had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as United was edged by slightly lower-ranked Sydney (#7, 3-7) 97-94. Geelong U. managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Holmes is a newcomer at Geelong U., but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.4ppg (#1). She also registered 9.8 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Megan McConnell (170-G-2001) of league's second-best Bendigo Spirit. McConnell showcased her all-around game by recording 21 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Bendigo Spirit, leading her team to a 80-64 easy win against the lower-ranked Sydney (#7, 3-7). Bendigo needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 2 lost games. McConnell has a very solid season. In 9 games in Australia she scored 11.1ppg. She also has 6.4rpg and 3.2apg.

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
