Experienced Naturalized American Power forward Kelsey Griffin (188-F/C-1987) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Bendigo Spirit and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 38-year old power forward had a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, while her team outclassed Geelong U. (#7, 3-8) with 35-point margin 93-58. Bendigo Spirit maintains the 2nd position in Australian WNBL. They are still close to the very top. Bendigo would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 9-2 record. In the team's last game Griffin had a remarkable 88.9% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Bendigo Spirit, through which she has constantly improved. University of Nebraska graduate has very impressive stats this year. Griffin is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 10.1rpg) and averages solid 2.2spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international forward Anneli Maley (185-F-1998) of Perth Lynx. Maley impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 13 points and 19 rebounds. Of course she led Perth Lynx to another comfortable win 98-81 over slightly lower-ranked Southside (#5, 3-6) being unquestionably team leader. Perth's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Maley is a newcomer at Perth and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Mackenzie Holmes (190-F-2001, agency: LBM Management) of Geelong United (#7). Holmes scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Holmes' great performance the United lost 58-93 to the higher-ranked Bendigo (#2, 9-2). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Holmes has individually a great season in Australia. After 11 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.4ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 10.4rpg (3rd best). She also has 1.1bpg and a FGP of 59.4%.

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
