International Forward Anneli Maley (185-F-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Perth Lynx, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds, while her team beat Adelaide (#7, 5-13) 80-65. Perth Lynx maintains the 3rd position in Australian WNBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Perth will need more victories to improve their 13-4 record. Maley turned to be Perth Lynx's top player in her first season with the team. Former Texas Christian University star has very solid stats this year. Maley leads league in rebounds with 13.8rpg. The second best player in last round's games was young international swingman Courtney Woods (183-G/F-1997) of league's leader Townsville Fire. Woods had a very good evening with 27 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Townsville Fire to edge the lower-ranked Southside (#5, 7-9) 90-84. This victory allowed Townsville to move up to 1st position in the standings. Her team has currently 14-4 record. Woods is a newcomer at Townsville and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Nyadiew Puoch (190-F-2004) of Canberra Capitals (#4). Puoch scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Puoch's great performance the Canberra Capitals lost 72-84 to slightly lower-ranked Sydney (#6, 6-13). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Canberra ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Puoch could help Canberra to bring them higher in the standings. Puoch has a very solid season. In 16 games in Australia she scored 10.7ppg.
