American Mackenzie Holmes (190-F-2001, agency: LBM Management) had a great game in the last round for Geelong United and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and 15 rebounds, while her team outclassed Sydney (#6, 6-14) with 28-point margin 105-77. United is placed at 7th position in Australian WNBL. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Geelong U. have already lost 14 games and recorded just five victories. Holmes turned to be United's top player in her first season with the team. Indiana University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Holmes is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.9ppg), rebounds (4th best: 9.6rpg) and averages solid 1.2bpg and 59.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Geelong U.'s star - young American forward Alissa Pili (188-F-2001). Pili impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course together with Holmes she helped Geelong United with another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Sydney (#6, 6-14) 105-77. This victory allowed United to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 7th position in the standings. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Geelong U. managed to get this year. Pili is a newcomer at United and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was international swingman Courtney Woods (183-G/F-1997) of top-ranked Townsville Fire. Woods showcased her all-around game by recording 20 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists (!!!) in the last round. She was a key player of Townsville Fire, leading her team to a 78-69 win against #4 ranked Canberra in a game of the week. Townsville confirms their top position in the standings. Woods has a great season in Australia. After 14 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 0.8apg (best passer). She also has a FGP of 65.0% and 3PT: 51.6%.
