Morgan Yaeger (175-G-1998) had an amazing evening in the last round for West Adelaide Bearcats and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 27-year old guard had the game-high 30 points adding four rebounds and five assists for W.Adelaide B. in her team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team N.Adelaide R. (#8, 0-1) with 23-point margin 76-53. Bearcats is placed at 4th position in Australian NBL One. But it's just the very beginning of the season and W.Adelaide B. won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Yaeger had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. She just recently signed at Bearcats and it was her first game, where she immediately became new team's leader. University of Oregon graduate has very impressive stats this year. Yaeger is in league's top in points (2nd best: 30.0ppg), assists (9th best: 5.0apg) and averages solid 3.0spg,80.0% FGP and 42.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Mollie McKendrick (183-F-1993) of second-ranked Noarlunga City Southern Tigers. McKendrick impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course she led Tigers to another comfortable win outscoring C.Districts L. (0-1) 85-63. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. McKendrick is one of the most experienced players at Southern T. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.0ppg (#4). She also registered 9.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Southern T.'s star - American Holly Forbes (178-F-1998). Forbes scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She was another key player of Noarlunga City Southern Tigers, helping her team with a 85-63 easy win against C.Districts L. (#6, 0-1). Tigers has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Forbes also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Forbes as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be another team's leader.
