The Regular Season in Big V just started. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Steelers recorded a loss in Western Port on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Boomers 83-51. Bulleen dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Steelers's 22. Bulleen outrebounded Western Port 61-33 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Clare Breden (168, college: McKendree, agency: Crossover Management) fired 24 points for the winners. Eryn Rosowski chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds. Boomers' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lucy Oakford produced 27 points for lost side. Boomers is looking forward to face Pakenham W. at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Steelers will play against Sunbury J. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game was played in Sunbury. Jets faced Venom. Host Jets defeated guests from Melbourne 78-71. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Chloe Hildebrand who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds. Charlie Mckinnon contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Michaela Kuen answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for Warrandyte V.Jets will play against Western Port at home in the next round. Venom will play against Pakenham W. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game was played in Melbourne. Boomers faced Venom. Guests from Bulleen smashed host Venom 76-55. The game was dominated by American players. Madeline Holland stepped up and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners. At the losing side Amy Patton responded with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Boomers will meet at home Pakenham W. in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Venom will play against Pakenham W. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games of round 1 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
winless Hume City B. was crushed by Bellarine in a road game 86-47. Winless McKinnon C. lost to undefeated Sherbrooke S. at home 67-74. Sherbrooke S. won against Pakenham W. on the opponent's court 85-75. Warrnambool was outscored by Bellarine in a home game 52-79.
The best stats of 1st round was 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by Courtney Strait of Bellarine.

An exciting game was played in Sunbury. Jets faced Venom. Host Jets defeated guests from Melbourne 78-71. Warrandyte V. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Chloe Hildebrand who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds. Charlie Mckinnon contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Michaela Kuen answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman Alaya Fitzgerald (180, college: Portland St.) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Warrandyte V.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jets will play against Western Port at home in the next round. Venom will play against Pakenham W. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There was a minor upset in Bellarine where Hume City Broncos were crushed by Storm 86-47 on Sunday. Bellarine dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Hume City Broncos's 24. Bellarine outrebounded Hume City B. 57-26 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American swingman Shayla Golden (178, college: UWA) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import forward Courtney Strait (180-1994) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Four Storm players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Kelly Heimburger (183-2002, college: Azusa Pacific) responded with 16 points and Monique Caparello scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Storm will meet Western Port on the road in the next round. There was a small surprise in McKinnon where Suns defeated Cougars 74-67 on Sunday. American guard Zoe Zwerling (173-1996, college: Northeastern) stepped up and scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and center Tanielle Knight (185-2004) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Annabel Fitter responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and forward Maighan Hedge (178, college: Cameron) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Suns will meet at home Hume City B. in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cougars will play against Warrnambool and hope to win that game.
