The biggest surprise took place in Melbourne where host Venom (4-2) crushed league's leader Storm (3-2) 73-51 on Saturday evening. Eleanor Bollands fired 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Amy Patton (178-1991, college: NAU) chipped in 6 points and 8 rebounds. Venom's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chantelle Hall produced 20 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Venom have a solid four-game winning streak. Warrandyte V. maintains third position with 4-2 record having just one point less than leader Sherbrooke S. Bellarine at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Sherbrooke S.. Bellarine will play next round against McKinnon C. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Warrandyte V. will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Bulleen at home.

Undefeated Jets (4-1) recorded its first loss in Sunbury on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by eighth ranked Boomers (2-4) 87-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Jets. Worth to mention a great performance of Madeline Holland who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Chloe Hildebrand responded with 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bulleen maintains eighth position with 2-4 record.
