HKBA Spiders add Hickey to their roster

William Hickey

Hornsby Ku-ring-Gai Spiders (NBL One) added 27-year old Australian international guard William Hickey (194cm-85kg-1999) to their roster. He moved there from South Bay Lakers (NBA G League) in the U.S. In four NBA G League games, he recorded 4.0ppg, 2.8rpg, and 1.8apg last season. He also played for Hawks (NBL).
Hickey represented Australia at the FIBA Asia Cup in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) last year. Hickey's team won Gold and he averaged almost 11 points per game.
He is a highly experienced player, having played for teams in New Zealand (Tuatara), Australia (United, Tigers, Sydney City Comets, Bandits, and Miners), and the NBA Summer League (Chicago Bulls). His team reached the NBA G League Semifinals in 2026.
Among many awards, he was voted Australiabasket.com All-Australian NBL1 East Defensive Player of the Year in 2024.
