Australian Big V round 6 best performance: Katherine Vaile (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Katherine Vaile (185-F) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked McKinnon Cougars, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The player had a double-double of 22 points and 16 rebounds, while her team outclassed Warrnambool (#10, 1-6) with 34-point margin 80-46. Cougars is placed at 2nd position in Australian Big V. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. McKinnon C. will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. In the team's last game Vaile had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Cougars, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh star has very solid stats this year. Vaile is in league's top in points (7th best: 15.6ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 9.8rpg) and averages impressive 2.4spg and 69.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Oliana Squires (175-G-1998) of league's leader Sherbrooke Suns. Squires had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds. Of course she led Suns to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Warrandyte V. (#5, 5-5) 89-46. This victory allowed Sherbrooke S. to move up to 1st position in the standings. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 7 matches. Squires is one of the most experienced players at Sherbrooke S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.6ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 7.8rpg and 4.8apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Madeline Holland (180-F, agency: Crossover Management) of Western Port Steelers (#3). Holland scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. She was a key player of Steelers, leading her team to a 85-46 easy win against #4 ranked Hume City B. in a game of the week. Western Port needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 4 lost games. The season just started for Holland as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.
