American Clare Breden (168-G, agency: Crossover Management) put on an amazing game in the last round for Western Port Steelers and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The guard had the game-high 19 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Western Port in her team's victory, helping them to outclass Warrnambool (#10, 1-8) with 52-point margin 80-28. Steelers is placed at 3rd position in Australian Big V. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Western Port will need more victories to improve their 6-4 record. In the team's last game Breden had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Steelers, being already a very valuable addition to the team. McKendree University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Breden is in league's top in points (9th best: 16.1ppg) and averages solid 51.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Courtney Strait (180-F-1994) of Bellarine Storm. Strait impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Storm cruised to a 85-73 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Sherbrooke S. (#1, 8-2). This victory allowed Bellarine to move up to 5th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 5-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Strait is well-known by Bellarine fans and she already established her position as one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#4). Her other stats are also decent: 6.4rpg and 3.6apg.

The third best performed player last round was Emma Pearce of top-ranked Sherbrooke Suns. Pearce scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. She was a key player of Suns, leading her team to a 72-64 win against the lower-ranked Hume City B. (#6, 5-5). Sherbrooke S. confirms their top position in the standings. Pearce has a great season in Australia. After 10 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.7ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 9.4rpg (2nd best).
