Abbey Ellis claims Australian NBL One weekly honour

International Guard Abbey Ellis (168-G-2001) had a very impressive game in the last round for Diamond Valley Eagles and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 24-year old guard had a double-double of 37 points and 12 rebounds, while her team crushed Bendigo LB (#15, 4-8) with 16-point margin 109-93. Diamond Valley Eagles is placed at 3rd position in Australian NBL One. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Diamond VE will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. In the team's last game Ellis had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 9 attempts. She just recently signed at Diamond Valley Eagles, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Purdue University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ellis is in league's top in points (2nd best: 27.0ppg) and averages solid 2.4spg and 56.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Naomi Allotey of Woodville Warriors. Allotey impressed basketball fans with 33 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. It was enough for Warriors to edge the lower-ranked Norwood F. (#6, 5-5) by 5 points 101-96. Woodville W.'s 3rd position in Central has not changed. Her team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Allotey is one of the most experienced players at Woodville W. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Emily Kiser (191-F-2000) of Rockhampton Cyclones (#12). Kiser showcased her all-around game by recording 27 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 7 assists in the last round. Despite Kiser's great performance the Cyclones lost 78-95 to the higher-ranked NGC Seahawks (#9, 2-4). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. Rockhampton C. can only dream about fighting for top spots in North. They have rather bad season and 1-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Kiser has a very solid season. In 5 games in Australia she scored 15.8ppg.

9. Sierra Moore (180-G-1994) of Goldfields G. - 25 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Jazmin Shelley (165-G-2000) of Norths B. - 32 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists
