Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most exciting game of round 12 in the NBL One took place in Morley. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of second-best Eagles (9-4) to eighth ranked Suns (4-9) 82-80 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Kalamunda ES looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kalamunda ES made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Trista Hull (188, college: Portland) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import swingman Gabriella Bronson (178-1993, college: Parkside) who added 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Danish swingman Sarah Mortensen (185-1997, college: Villanova) with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Despite that victory Kalamunda ES went down to tenth position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams. East Perth E. at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Warwick S.. Kalamunda ES is looking forward to face Perth R. (#11) in Northbridge in the next round. East Perth E. will play on the road against SW Slammers (#13) in Bunbury and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Taigum. Sixth ranked Wizards (5-4) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Sunshine CP (4-5) 80-79 in the fight for the sixth place. The winners were led by forward Grace Ellis (183, college: CSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and Nadeen Payne supported her with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 26 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists by American forward Erin Bollmann (180-1994, college: SEMO) did not help to save the game for SC Phoenix. Northside W. maintains sixth position with 5-4 record. SC Phoenix at the other side keeps the seventh place with five games lost. Northside W. will play against Ipswich F. (#12) in Booval in the next round where they are favorite. SC Phoenix will play on the road against SW Metro P. (#9) in Runcorn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Brisbane Spartans (7-3) against fifth ranked Flames (6-3) on Sunday night. Host Brisbane Spartans were crushed by Flames in Brisbane 104-69. The best player for the winners was Courtney Woods who had a triple-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Mikayla Cowling who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flames have a solid three-game winning streak. Townsville F. maintains fifth position with 6-3 record. Loser Brisbane Spartans dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. Townsville F. will meet at home NGC Seahawks (#8) in the next round. SD Spartans will play against Gold Coast R. (#11) and hope to secure a win.
