An interesting game was also tough home defeat of 5th ranked Perth Wildcats in a game versus Adelaide 36ers (#8) 96-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Perth Wildcats. Adelaide 36ers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Perth Wildcats' 36. They outrebounded Perth Wildcats 39-25 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Adelaide 36ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American forward Robert Franks (201-1996, college: WSU) who scored that evening 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-1988, college: Pepperdine) supported him with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Even 17 points and 5 assists by American guard Bryce Cotton (182-1992, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Perth Wildcats. His fellow American import power forward TaShawn Thomas (203-1993, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Adelaide 36ers (5-5) moved-up to sixth place. Loser Perth Wildcats dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Adelaide 36ers will meet league's second-placed Kings in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Perth Wildcats will play against the league's leader New Zealand Breakers (#1) in Auckland and hope to secure a win.
