It was a great evening for the former international power forward Lauren Jackson (196-1981) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. The former international forward Sara Blicavs (189-1993) helped adding 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side the former international swingman Anneli Maley (187-1998, college: TCU) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Kelly Wilson (170-1984) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Southside Flyers moved-up to third place. Bendigo Spirit at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. Southside Flyers will play against bottom-ranked Canberra Capitals (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Bendigo Spirit will play against Adelaide Lightning (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
