The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Sydney Flames' (2-7) home victory over bottom-ranked Canberra Capitals (0-9) 87-72 on Friday. Sydney Flames dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Canberra Capitals' 34. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Shyla Heal (167-2001, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Keely Froling (188-1996, college: SMU) accounted for 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Sydney Flames players scored in double figures.
