Five Melbourne Phoenix players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Bryce Cotton (182-1992, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and New Zealand guard Corey Webster (188-1988, college: Lambuth) scored 21 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Melbourne Phoenix moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Melbourne. Loser Perth Wildcats dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Melbourne Phoenix will meet league's leader Kings in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Perth Wildcats will play against JackJumpers (#4) in Hobart and hope to secure a win.
