NZ. Breakers eased past Tasmania in the opener. New Zealand Breakers made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. The former international guard William McDowell-White (196-1998, college: Fresno St.) fired 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American center Derek Pardon (203-1996, college: Northwestern) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. American Milton Doyle (193-1993, college: Loyola, IL) produced 10 points and 4 assists and the other American import Rashard Kelly (203-1995, college: Wichita St.) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
